Annual Southern California Minority Supplier Diversity Council (SCMSDC) Minority Supplier of the Year Awards Set for July 25, 2018
We’re so excited to announce that we were nominated by our longtime client, The Walt Disney Company to complete in the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) Minority Supplier of the Year Awards. This is our first nomination for a supplier diversity award! The competition begins on the local level with the Southern California Minority Supplier Development Council (SCMSDC) on July 25, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach Hotel.
Each year, corporate members nominate SCMSDC-certified minority-owned businesses, who distinguish themselves and their business for outstanding performance. Nominees are judged by a Supplier of the Year award selection committee, which is comprised of SCMSDC corporate members, and evaluated on their:
- Demonstrated growth and development
- Employment and job creation
- Consistent high quality operations, products/services and business performance
- Procurement/purchasing spend with MBEs
- Mentoring and other forms of assistance to MBEs
- Regional council involvement, and more
It is truly an honor to be singled out by a corporate member, but even more humbling to be selected by such a long-time client as Disney. While it would be wonderful to win the award for our class, nomination is a stamp of validation for our awesome team. It is a symbol of our hard work, effort, and drive to really serve our customers the best we can. I am so excited!
As explained by SCMSDC President, Virginia Gomez, “…only three percent of our total SCMSDC-certified MBEs get nominated, making all nominees winners in their own right.” So, thank you to our amazing client and the SCMSDC for our nomination!
