Project Description

The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s Office is responsible for the registration of voters, maintenance of voter files, conduct of federal, state, local and special elections and the verification of initiative, referendum and recall petitions for the 4.8 million registered voters in Los Angeles County. The Recorder’s Office is responsible for recording legal documents that determine ownership of property, as well as maintaining files of birth, death, marriage and real estate records for Los Angeles County.

As part of a large maintenance contract with the County of Los Angeles Internal Services Department, Athena Engineering, Inc. was tasked with the transition of a legacy TAC controls system to Schneider Electric’s StruxureWare for the Van Nuys branch of the Registrar-Recorder. The project included installation of new controls components, LonWorks programming, and new HTML-5 graphics for the front-end.  To address the problem of mis-placed computers used to access the front-end, Athena Engineering installed a tablet on the front of the BMS panel that allowed access to the system’s graphics. This project also involved the installation of new actuators and control valves.
