Industrial dust collection and high-velocity exhaust for the CNC shop that builds every Kaiser cabinet in the West.
This 27,000-square-foot Kaiser facility in Vernon does one thing: it manufactures the cabinetry for every Kaiser site across the western United States. Its CNC machine shop throws off a steady load of wood dust, and that dust needs somewhere to go. Athena built the system that takes it there.
We installed heavy-gauge welded ductwork and distribution throughout the shop, built to take the high-velocity, abrasive exhaust that wood dust and CNC work throw at it. This isn’t off-the-shelf sheet metal; welded duct holds up where lighter material wears through.
Because the shop can’t lose its dust collection mid-run, we installed specialized controls for redundant operation — the system keeps pulling even if a component drops. Then we balanced the whole thing to the high-velocity exhaust each custom CNC machine needs, machine by machine.
Every exam-room cabinet in a western Kaiser starts in this shop. The air that keeps it running is ours.
