Athena Engineering, Inc. won this project with Schneider Electric as an Energy Services Contract (ESCO) design-build. The system designed and provided for the LACCD LA City College included renovation and additions to the entire campus infrastructure. All construction and retrofit was performed while the campus was fully occupied and the facility was operational. Other pieces of the overall scope included:
- Schneider Electric / TAC Vista utilizing LonWorks protocol network and controllers
- Provided Ethernet IP routing and fiber optics backbone for maximum throughput
- Provided after hours installation and sequencing in an operational facility
- New valves and actuators on all VAV systems
- Nine (9) buildings on a campus-wide IP infrastructure and web services
- Full central plant multiple building variable speed pumping control for chilled water and hotwater distribution
- Full power consumption monitoring and analyses
- Full gas and water consumption monitoring and analysis
